As an official trainer for the Mustang Heritage Foundation, we are now training two wild horses and sharing the process with as many people as possible. What an educational experience!
In every domestic horse is a wild horse. In every wild horse is a domestic horse. |

Above: Merlin adn Cortez togethre like two brothers sharing life! One could say that we see their heritage and spirit in their eyes.

Games Horses Play on Humans
|
We humans think that we have waysto control and play with horses. Here are some games where horses excel against humans and point value won for the horse:
· Move your feet: Human moves all around horse while horse stands still. Worth one horse point for each time human moves and horse does not.
· Step on Human's foot Game: Worth 3 horse points for each second that horse's foot is on top of humans foot.
· Trailer Loading Game: Worth 5 horse points for every time that horse gets human
to go into the trailer before horse gets in trailer.
· I Can Wait Longer Than you Game: This is where the horse waits out the human when asked to do something. Human usually gives up before horse gives desired response. Worth 5 horse points per event because horse is learning to not listen to human.
· Longe the Human Game: This is where the horse refuses and the human moves more than the horse. Worth 2 horse points per event.
· Driving Game: This is where the horse uses rhythmic pressure to pushes you around by kicking, nosing or taking your space.
· The Back up Game: This is where the horse gets the human to back up and out of the way. Worth 3 horse points.
· Two Heels not Two Eyes Game: This is where the horse get to show you his hiney and not his eyes. Good for 2 points each time human allows this to happen.
There are other variations and new games being invented in horse conferences out behind the barn.
